Biography ~Jeff Johnson’s nearly 50 recordings span a 37 year career and have been self produced, recorded and regularly released on his Ark Records/ArkMusic label. In addition to his many solo releases (Journey Prayers, Vespers, A Thin Silence), they include collaborations with Irish flutist, Brian Dunning (Byzantium, Music of Celtic Legends, Patrick) and guitarist, Phil Keaggy (Frio Suite, WaterSky). Many selections have also been featured on releases by Windham Hill (Celtic Christmas, Winter Solstice), Hearts of Space (Prayers of St. Brendan, Celtic Twilight), Sparrow Records (No Shadow of Turning) and in films (Gangs of New York).

He has performed in concert settings that include Neuschwantstein Castle (with the Coram Deo Ensemble), on the Africa Mercy Ship in the Republic of Congo, Africa, and for Mrs. Billy Graham’s 80th birthday celebration in North Carolina (with Brian Dunning). He regularly leads the contemplative worship Selah service at churches and retreat centers throughout the country.

Wendy Goodwin began studying classical violin at the age of three and her passion for the instrument carried her all the way to a Masters degree in violin performance under the tutelage of nationally renowned concert violinist and instructor Carol Sindell. Upon graduation, Ms. Goodwin toured as a fiddle player and backup vocalist for country artist Lori Willcuts before settling in Portland, Oregon where she established the music production company Effesenden Music. This past year, Effesenden Music has been featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, the Little Black Book of Style Me Pretty and the distinction of the 2014 Couples’ Choice Award ranking for WeddingWire.com.

Place of Refuge debuts Wendy’s original compositions produced by Jeff Johnson with contributions by Brian Dunning. The trio has toured together since 2009 and recorded two CDs (Under The Wonder Sky, Winterfold). They have also been featured as part of National Public Radio’s Echoes show performing in a live broadcast this past year on Sonic Seasonings.

In their upcoming concert, Jeff and Wendy will perform music from a variety of these recordings including Johnson’s upcoming solo release, Broken/Gazing.
