Finishing Well

During the month of March and April, I have been mainly focusing on ending the school year and also recruiting for the positions that we still have open. I recently came across two articles that talk about ending the school year and also finishing well.

In Finishing Well - Hebrews 12:1-3 , the author talks about the many Biblical examples of finishing well and also stories of missionaries and other Christians. The one story that stood out to my was that our famous sports star and missionary, C.T. Studd. He started well as a missionary and was very effective, however, he did not end well.

Finishing the School Year Strong was a very practical article on ways to end the school year. However, the last paragraph spoke to me the most.

"Though we generally think of the word "end" as a conclusion, we should keep in mind it comes from the Greek word anti, which means "before." While we might think we're concluding the school year, we are really?much more importantly?setting students, and ourselves, up for what comes next."

I do not want the next few months of school to be a time of just passing by to get to the end. This should be a time to look forward and prepare for the next school year.

As the writer of Hebrews states, "Let us fix our eyes of Jesus...so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."
