A month ago, our family drove over 800 miles to Colorado. I had two week-long conferences to attend (the ACSI Leadership Academy and a child safety workshop) and we decided to make a road trip out of the work committment.
I discovered that southern Colorado had the largest sand dunes in the United States. So we decided to find the Great Sand Dunes National Park. It as about 100 miles off our usually route to Colorado, but was worth the side trip.

We saw many friends and also explored some of our favorite locations in Colorado. The Garden of the Gods is a favorite of mine and it was a great backdrop for the twins.

If you have to attend a conference for work, Colorado Springs is a pretty good location. There is even a volcano on the drive up from Texas!
